WHAT'S SMALL GROUP PT?

WHAT IS THE TRAINING SCHEDULE, AND HOW DO I BOOK/CANCEL SESSIONS?

Small Group Personal Training has been created to help further make fitness affordable for everyone and also help build confidence within a gym setting - the sessions help teach you how to perform exercises in a productive and safe way and also how to adapt exercises for different abilities.

Training with others offers support, motivation to push harder, accountability and help to stay consistent and enjoy the process.

There are 10-11 designated sessions available on the timetable each week Monday-Friday, these are all peak times and there are 2 types of membership for these sessions and both also have the added benefit of being able to use the gym in between sessions and also a standard class - please see our timetable below.

HOW MUCH DOES THIS COST?

 x2 Small Group Personal Training sessions (Plus Open gym and 1 standard class per week) £100 per month

 x3 Small Group Personal Training sessions (Plus Open gym and 1 standard class per week) £150 per month

Pay as you Go - From £10 per session

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT IN MY VERY FIRST SESSION?

Your first session is designed to be a blend of orientation, assessment, and a safe, coached workout.

​

  • Welcome and Safety Check: You'll be introduced to the coach and the group. The trainer will quickly review any injuries or health history you have so they can make immediate exercise adjustments.

​

  • Movement Assessment: The coach will have you perform simple movements (like squats or lunges) to assess your current mobility and form. This helps them understand your starting point.

​

  • The Coached Workout: You will go through a dynamic warm-up and the main workout program. Expect:

    • Clear Demonstrations of every exercise.

    • Form Correction and more individual attention than a large class.

    • Modifications (easier versions) or regressions to ensure you are moving safely.

​

  • The Group Dynamic: You'll experience a supportive, motivating atmosphere. Focus on learning the exercises and listening to your body - it's okay to go slow!

HOW DOES IT DIFFER FROM A REGULAR CLASS (e.g bootcamp/hiit)

A Boot Camp or HIIT Class is great for motivation, high energy, and cardiovascular fitness at a low cost.

Small Group PT is designed for safer progression, learning proper technique, and achieving specific, measurable fitness goals (like getting stronger or correcting imbalances), while still keeping the cost lower than 1-on-1 training.

IS THIS TYPE OF TRAINING SUITABLE FOR A COMPLETE BEGINNER?

Yes, small group personal training (SGPT) is arguably the best place for a complete beginner. Unlike huge classes where you can get lost, SGPT keeps the group small (3-8 people) so the coach can give you constant, direct attention. They will ensure your form is safe and correct on every exercise and provide instant modifications based on your current fitness level or any injuries.
